The Crwth is a Welsh bowed medieval musical instrument that is considered to be a precursor to the violin.  Over a period of 8 months I hand crafter the instrument from salvaged wood.  The instrument is mounted in a frame and "played" mechanically via digitally programmed solenoids and motors.

The recording here is a digitally produced mockup using samples from the created instrument.

The project is in its final stages and will be shared at "Making Insights" Open Doors at Ruthin Castle, Denbighshire in September.
